Summary of Peru & Bolivia

Highlights:

  1. Tour of Uyuni Salt Flats
  2. Machu Picchu and hiking Inca trail
  3. Paracus (Mike) & Isla del Sol (Andrea)

Worst Experiences:

  1. Overnight bus from Pisco to Arequipa (for Andrea – made worse because she was not feeling well)
  2. Loss of Pictures on Portable hard drive (because it got scratched)

Foods tried:

  1. Cows stomach in Pisco
  2. Cerviche in Lima (raw seafood marinated in lime juice)
  3. Anticucho (both cow & chicken) in Lima (heart of the animal)
  4. Guinea Pig in Cusco (easy way out, Tried as an appetizer in a really nice restaurant, was deboned)

Transport:

  1. Local Bus -12 rides totaling 76 hours
  2. Multiple short minibus rides
  3. Numerous taxi rids
  4. Boat Rides – 6 in total
  5. Rickshaw – 1
  6. Cart propelled by Bike – 1
  7. Plane (Cusco to Lima) – time saved by using this instead of bus, 15 hours and this was subtracting airport waiting time

Totals:

  1. Number of nights couch Surfed so far: 7
  2. Fake sports jerseys mike has collected: Peru, Bolivia, Argentina

What we will miss the most:

  • Andrea - Fresh Fruit smoothies & Juices from the Market- $!
  • Mike - Seeing Llamas
