Arrived in Puno, a port city on the edge of Lake Titicaca and at an elevation of 12,639ft. The bus ride here was eventful in that our enjoyment of being front row (slightly extra leg room) during the 6 hour ride was violently disrupted by a young girl puking all over the isle next to us.
Notes of interest about Puno is that at night it gets COLD (below freezing)! No surprise right, it is winter after all and we are at a high elevation. However, there is also NO heating either. This means in many restaurants, internet cafes, and in our hostel rooms. Plus, bathroom sinks only run cold water (this is throughout the country). So, the splurge on hot chocolate at a cafe was that much more enjoyed.
